Criteria for Evaluating Used Condition with Deductible Fees

General Guidelines for All Items

  1. Cleanliness:
    • Minor dirt or stains: $20 cleaning fee or 10% of the item’s value (whichever is higher).
    • Heavy dirt or permanent stains: 50% of the item’s value deducted.
    • Unacceptable condition: Full replacement cost deducted.
  2. Structural Integrity:
    • Minor wear (small tears, loose seams, etc.): $25 repair fee or 15% of the item’s value (whichever is higher).
    • Major damage (large tears, broken parts): 50% of the item’s value deducted.
    • Irreparable damage: Full replacement cost deducted.
  3. Alterations:

o   No alterations are allowed. Any resizing, cutting, gluing, or other permanent modifications will result in the full replacement cost of the item being deducted from the deposit.

Specific Rules and Deductibles for Each Item Type

1. Costumes (Clothing & Accessories)

·       Fabric Condition:

o   Minor issues (loose threads, small tears): $20 repair fee or 10% of the item’s value.

o   Major issues (large tears, missing fastenings): 50% of the item’s value.

o   Destroyed costume: Full replacement cost.

·       Stains:

o   Light, removable stains: $15 cleaning fee.

o   Permanent stains (makeup, ink, food): 50% of the item’s value.

·       Odor:

o   Mild odor (e.g., light perfume): $10 deodorizing fee.

o   Strong, lingering odor (e.g., sweat, smoke): $50 cleaning fee or 20% of the item’s value.

2. Wigs

·       Tangles/Knots:

o   Light tangling: $15 detangling fee.

o   Severe matting or knotting: 30% of the wig’s value deducted.

·       Styling:

o   Loss of style (minor): $20 restyling fee.

o   Heat damage or ruined style: 50%–100% of the wig’s value, depending on severity.

·       Hair Fiber Condition:

o   Minimal fiber loss: $10 fee.

o   Significant fiber loss/frizzing: 50% of the wig’s value.

o   Irreparable damage: Full replacement cost.

3. Props (Weapons, Accessories, Etc.)

·       Structural Damage:

o   Minor damage (chips, small dents): $30 repair fee or 15% of the prop’s value.

o   Major damage (cracks, broken parts): 50%–100% of the item’s value.

·       Paintwork:

o   Light scuffs or scratches: $15 repainting fee.

o   Significant paint damage: 30%–50% of the prop’s value.

4. Shoes

·       Soling and Heel:

o   Minor scuffs or wear on soles: $15 cleaning fee.

o   Significant scuffing or heel damage: 30%–50% of the shoe’s value.

·       Cleanliness:

o   Light dirt: $10 cleaning fee.

o   Heavy dirt or caked-on mud: $30 cleaning fee.

·       Interior:

o   Odors or stains: $20–$50 cleaning fee depending on severity.

5. Accessories (Jewelry, Hats, Belts, Etc.)

·       Condition:

o   Minor damage (loose fastenings, small bends): $10–$25 repair fee.

o   Major damage (missing parts, significant bending): 30%–50% of the item’s value.

o   Destroyed accessory: Full replacement cost.

Damage Levels and Corresponding Fees

1.     Minor Damage: Small, fixable issues that require minimal cleaning or repair.

o   Fee: $10–$30 or 10%–15% of the item’s value.

2.     Moderate Damage: Noticeable damage that requires professional cleaning or repairs.

o   Fee: $30–$50 or 20%–50% of the item’s value.

3.     Severe Damage: Extensive damage that affects the usability or appearance of the item.

o   Fee: 50%–100% of the item’s value.

4.     Irreparable Damage: The item is no longer usable or cannot be restored.

o   Fee: Full replacement cost deducted.
