What Is a Cosplay Wig Commission?
A wig commission is a styling project based on your chosen character and the look you want to wear. Depending on the design, it can involve cutting, shaping, teasing, adding wefts or building structured spikes, curls and braids. The hairstyle determines which base wig, materials and construction will work.
Choose a Listed Character Wig
If the design you want is already in our styled cosplay wig collection, check that listing’s options, production details and included features. Listed designs are mostly made to order. Their photos can also show the quality and finish you prefer.
Request a New Custom Design

A handmade wig is an interpretation of a character design. Small variations from artwork may occur, and not every illustrated shape can be reproduced exactly in a wearable wig.
What to Send with Your Wig Commission Request
Character & Version
Include the character name, series and specific outfit, skin or version. If references show different hairstyles, point out which one you want us to follow.
Front, Side & Back References
Send clear official artwork, model sheets or screenshots where available. Close-ups help explain bangs, parting, braids and the shape of individual spikes. If you cannot find an angle, tell us it is missing. Avoid filling the gap with a reference that shows a different hairstyle.
Your Styling Priorities
Describe the color, length, volume and silhouette you want. Explain whether you prefer softer styling or a more exaggerated shape, and flag details that matter most to you.
Destination & Deadline
Provide your shipping country, event date and the date the wig needs to arrive. Include your budget and any accessories or special requests so we can account for them in the quote.
Unsure which base wig or color to choose? Send your references and describe the result you want. We will check the design, wig structure and materials before confirming what can be made and the price. Please check with us before buying or sending a base wig so we can agree that it can be used first.
How the Cosplay Wig Commission Process Works
Submit Your Quote Request
Send the brief and references through the Wig Quote Request. The current $5 fee starts the consultation; it does not purchase a finished wig. If you proceed, it is credited toward your final order total.
Review the Price & Schedule
Review the full commission price, estimated production time, shipping details and payment instructions by email. Quote replies normally arrive within 2 business days; check your spam folder if you have not received one.
Confirm the Design & Payment
Confirm your styling requirements and pay the required commission amount or deposit. A quote request alone does not reserve a production slot. Raise changes before production starts so their impact can be reviewed.
Review the Finished Wig
Review the finished photos or videos before packing and tracked shipping. Check the agreed color, silhouette and important details against your brief. Your wig commission includes one complimentary revision after the wig is complete, during the review of finished photos or videos and before shipment. For orders with an urgent deadline, we notify you by email of the specific deadline to confirm the finished wig or request the revision. If you do not reply by that deadline, the wig is treated as confirmed so shipment can proceed.
Read the current Quote Request terms before paying. If we cannot agree on a final quote, your Quote Request fee will be refunded in full. If you agree to keep the quote request open for a future order, we retain it instead of refunding the fee. The refund exception applies to 10 or more price inquiries for the same item without committing to an order.
What Affects a Custom Wig’s Price?
A lightly trimmed hairstyle and a wig with large sculpted shapes can take very different amounts of work. The quote depends on the base wig, materials, styling, requested details and deadline. Shipping is calculated separately for your destination and package.
Share your budget with your references and point out the details you want to prioritize. Check whether accessories, a storage case and shipping are included in the quoted price.
When Should You Order a Cosplay Wig Commission?
Give us the date you need the wig to arrive as well as your convention date. Standard Cakycos custom wig production typically takes 20–25 business days; complexity, materials and the production queue can affect that estimate. Shipping takes additional time.
Rush Wig Orders
Rush orders are always available to request. Send your required arrival date first. We assess production and shipping together, then confirm whether your deadline can be met and any additional rush fee before payment.
A rush request is not a guaranteed delivery date. Confirm the schedule for your specific project.
International Shipping
Cakycos ships cosplay wigs internationally. Transit varies by destination, carrier and customs; delivery estimates are not guarantees. Allow time to unbox and try on your wig before the event.

When Your Styled Wig Arrives
Unpack slowly and support the wig without pulling on spikes, curls or attached details. Avoid brushing through fixed styling. Store it in a cool, dry place with enough space to protect its shape, and check it before convention travel.

Can I commission a character that is not in the shop?
Yes—send the character, version and references for review. We confirm what can be made and quote the design individually before production.
What if I cannot find a back-view reference?
Send the clearest available images and identify what is missing. Tell us how you would like the unseen areas to look so we can discuss them before agreeing on the design.
Does the quote request fee pay for the wig?
No. The $5 quote request starts the consultation and is separate from the finished wig price. It is credited toward the final order total if you proceed. Review the full quote and current terms before confirming.
Can I change the hairstyle after submitting my request?
Tell us about changes as early as possible. Switching the character version, color or structure may change the price or schedule. Once production has started, confirm which changes are possible before assuming they can be included.
Should I buy a listed wig or request a commission?
Start with the listed product if its character and options match your needs. Request an individual quote for a new design or styling requirements that are not covered by the listing. Made to order does not automatically mean every detail can be customized.
