Custom Cosplay Costume Commissions
Create a cosplay costume around your character references, measurements, and design preferences with Cakycos.
Most costume commissions are custom-sized. We review each project individually to confirm the included pieces, construction requirements, pricing, and estimated production timeline.
What to Include in Your Costume Request
Please provide as much of the following information as possible:
- Character name, series, and the specific costume version.
- Clear front, back, side, and detail references where available.
- A list of the pieces you want included.
- Fabric, color, texture, and construction preferences.
- Fit, comfort, stretch, or mobility requirements.
- Any material sensitivities or allergy concerns.
- Your delivery country and postal code.
- Your event date and preferred arrival date.
- Your budget, if you have one.
If your project also includes a wig or props, list these separately so we can review the full scope. Do not assume that every item shown in a reference image is included in the quote.
How the $5 Quote Request Fee Works
The $5 payment is a quote request fee, not the price of a finished costume.
If we cannot agree on a final quote or move forward with your project, the fee will be refunded. If you accept the quote and proceed, the $5 will be deducted from your final balance payment.
Submitting a request does not reserve a production slot.
How Your Commission Works
1. Submit Your References
Complete the quote request form with your project details and pay the $5 quote request fee.
2. Review the Scope and Quote
We will contact you by email with pricing, estimated production time, shipping information, and payment instructions. We may request additional references or clarification.
If you have not received an email within 5 business days, please check your spam folder and contact info@cakycos.com.
Quote requests may be closed after 20 business days without a response unless otherwise arranged.
3. Confirm Measurements and Payment
Most costume commissions require individual measurements. Follow our measurement guide and submit the measurements requested for your project.
Production begins after payment or the required deposit is received. Production slots are not reserved before that payment.
4. Production and Final Review
We may contact you during production if further information or confirmation is needed.
Once your costume is completed, we will provide finished photos and/or videos for review. After your confirmation, the order will be packed and shipped with tracking information.
Custom Sizing and Fit
Accurate measurements are essential for a custom-sized costume. Please use the requested measurement method and clearly label all measurements with their units.
Tell us before production begins about any requirements for garment length, stretch, comfort, mobility, or how you plan to wear the costume.
Fit can vary with body proportions, posture, fabric characteristics, and the layers worn underneath. Changes cannot be guaranteed after production starts.

Production Timeline
Most costume commissions require approximately 2–6 months, depending on complexity, materials, custom sizing, and our production queue.
This is an estimated production period. Shipping time is additional, and an event deadline must be discussed and confirmed before payment.
Rush requests may be considered for an additional fee, depending on production capacity.
Pricing and Included Pieces
Commission pricing includes labor, base materials, and standard construction for the agreed project scope. Shipping is calculated separately based on package size, weight, destination, and insurance requirements.
Please review the included pieces carefully before confirming your order. Additional items, approved design changes, material availability, or rush requirements may affect pricing.
References and Handmade Details
We welcome reference images and specific preferences for fabric, finish, and construction.
References from other creators are used for inspiration and may require permission. Exact replication cannot be guaranteed, and minor handmade or construction variations may occur.
Shipping and Delivery
Standard U.S. shipping generally takes 5–10 business days after dispatch. International delivery varies by destination and customs processing. Some commissions may ship directly from our international workshop.
Please provide accurate shipping information and monitor tracking updates. Applicable customs duties, taxes, and import fees are the customer’s responsibility.
If your package arrives visibly damaged, document the packaging and item condition before removing or wearing the costume, and contact info@cakycos.com. Keep the packaging for review.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is every costume made to my measurements?
Most costume commissions are custom-sized. The sizing requirements for your project will be confirmed during the quote process. Standard-size retail products are separate from this service.
Are wigs and props included?
Only the items included in your agreed quote are covered. List any wig, prop, or accessory requirements separately when submitting your request.
Can I request specific fabrics or fit adjustments?
Yes. Include your preferences before production begins so we can assess feasibility and pricing. Changes after production starts cannot be guaranteed.
Can you complete my costume before a convention?
Include your event date and preferred arrival date in your request. We will assess the deadline based on the project and our production capacity.
